Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Tundra and 2005 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point CALIBRATION  .
  1. Measure voltage between terminals TC (13) and CG (4) of the DLC3.

    CHECK:

    1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    2. Measure the voltage between terminals TC (13) and CG (4) of the DLC3.

    Voltage: 10 to 14 V

    1. NG : Go to step   3 .
    2. OK : Go to next step.
  2. Check CAN communication system (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

    CHECK:

Check if the CAN communication systems DTC is detected.

    RESULT:

    DTC OUTPUT RESULT

    DTC is output A
    DTC is not output B
    1. NG : Repair circuit indicated by output code (See  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ).
    2. OK : Replace master cylinder solenoid (See  DISASSEMBLY  ).
  3. Check for open or short circuit in harness and connector between DLC3 and ECM.
    1. NG : Repair or replace harness or connector.
    2. OK : Go to next step.
  4. Check harness and connector between CG terminal of DLC3 and body ground.

    CHECK:

Measure the resistance between terminal CG of the DLC3 and body ground.

    OK:

    Continuity
