Oil Pump Seal (3MZ-FE): Replacement

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH 
  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 
  3. REMOVE V (COOLER COMPRESSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) BELT NO. 1 (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  4. REMOVE VANE PUMP V BELT (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  5. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  6. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING STAY NO. 2 RH (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  7. REMOVE GENERATOR BRACKET NO. 2 (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  8. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 

    SST 09213-54015 (91651-60855), 09330-00021, 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05031)

  9. REMOVE TIMING BELT NO. 1 COVER 
  10. REMOVE TIMING BELT NO. 2 COVER (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  11. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  12. REMOVE TIMING BELT GUIDE NO. 2 
  13. REMOVE TIMING BELT (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  14. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY 
    1. Remove the bolt and timing belt plate.

    2. Install the pulley bolt to the crankshaft.
    3. Using SST, remove the crankshaft timing pulley.

      SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05011)

      NOTE:
      • Do not scratch the sensor part of the crankshaft timing pulley.
      • Before using SST, apply lubricating oil to the threads and tip of the center bolt 150.
  15. REMOVE OIL PUMP SEAL 
    1. Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.
    2. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped in tape, pry out the oil seal.
      NOTE: After removing, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

  16. INSTALL OIL PUMP SEAL 
    1. Apply multi-purpose grease to a new oil seal lip.
      NOTE: Keep the lip free of foreign objects.
    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the new oil seal until its surface is flush with the oil pump edge.

      SST 09223-00010

      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to tap the oil seal at an angle.
      • Wipe off extra grease on the crankshaft.

  17. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY 
    1. Align the keyway of the pulley with the key located on the crankshaft, then slide the pulley into place.
      NOTE: Do not scratch the sensor area of the crankshaft timing pulley.
    2. Install the timing belt plate with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

  19. INSTALL TIMING BELT (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 

    SST 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000)

  20. INSTALL TIMING BELT TENSIONER ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  21. INSTALL TIMING BELT GUIDE NO. 2 (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  22. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  23. INSTALL TIMING BELT NO. 2 COVER (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  24. INSTALL TIMING BELT NO. 1 COVER (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  25. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 

    SST 09213-54015 (91651-60855), 09330-00021

  26. INSTALL GENERATOR BRACKET NO. 2 (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  27. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING STAY NO. 2 RH (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  28. INSTALL ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  29. INSTALL VANE PUMP V BELT (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  30. INSTALL V (COOLER COMPRESSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) BELT NO. 1 (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  31. INSPECT DRIVE BELT DEFLECTION AND TENSION (See  INSPECTION   ) 
  32. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  33. CHECK FOR ENGINE OIL LEAKS
