Main Bearings, Crankshaft And Cylinder Block Removal: Removal

  1. Remove engine assembly from vehicle. See ENGINE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove clutch and flywheel (for M/T vehicle) or drive plate (for A/T vehicle). See REMOVAL .

    Special tool

  3. Remove throttle body with intake manifold and exhaust manifold. See EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove oil pan and oil pump strainer. See OIL PAN, OIL PUMP STRAINER REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove oil pump. See OIL PUMP REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove cylinder head cover. See CYLINDER HEAD COVER REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
  7. Remove timing chain cover. See TIMING CHAIN COVER REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
  8. Remove timing chain guide, chain tensioner, tensioner adjusters, 2nd timing chain and 1st timing chain. See 2ND TIMING CHAIN & CHAIN TENSIONER REMOVAL  and 1ST TIMING CHAIN & CHAIN TENSIONER REMOVAL .
  9. Remove cylinder head assembly. See VALVES & CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL .
  10. Remove pistons and connecting rods. See PISTONS, PISTON RINGS, CONNECTING RODS & CYLINDERS REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  11. Remove CKP sensor (1).

  12. Remove water pump (1) and heater outlet pipe.
  13. Remove engine side mounting brackets (right and left (2)).

  14. Loosen crankcase bolts, the following sequence (1-22) in the figure and remove them.

  15. Remove crankshaft from cylinder block.
