Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat)

CAUTION:
  • Refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag system components. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat) for the airbag system is located under the front center of the rear seat cushion. Be careful not to apply strong impact to the sensor when working with the rear seat cushion removed.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the plate sensor cover Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat).
    1. Remove the clip.
    2. Turn over the floor mat.
    3. Release the clips.
    4. Remove the plate sensor cover Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat).

  4. Remove the Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat).
    1. Disconnect the airbag connector. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>EACH IMPACT SENSOR .
    2. Remove the flange bolt.
    3. Remove the Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat).
