2.5 L Model

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: If the engine coolant is spilt over the engine or the exhaust pipe, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke or causing a fire.
  1. When water hose (A) and water hose (B) were replaced
    1. Connect the water hose (A). Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>PCV CONNECTOR>INSTALLATION .
    2. Connect the water hose (B).

  2. Install the outlet engine coolant temperature sensor to the water tank pipe assembly No. 2. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR>INSTALLATION>2.5 L MODEL>OUTLET ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
  3. Set new O-rings.

  4. Connect the water tank pipe assembly No. 2 to the water hose (A), water hose (B) and water hose (C).
  5. Install the bolts securing the water tank pipe assembly No. 2.

    Tightening torque: 

    16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

  6. Install the clip (A), and connect the connector (B) and connector (C).

  7. Install the thermo control valve assembly. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>THERMO CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY>INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the filler neck to the water tank pipe assembly No. 1. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>WATER PIPE>INSTALLATION>FILLER NECK .
  9. Install the water tank pipe assembly No. 1 and connect the water hose (A).
    NOTE:
    • For the bolt (B), use a crowfoot wrench for tightening.
    • Use the following formula to calculate the reading of a torque wrench when tightening with a crowfoot wrench.

    Calculation formula

    T = 6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb) x L1/(L1 + L2)

    T: Reading of the torque wrench

    L1: Effective length of the torque wrench

    L2: Effective length of the crowfoot wrench

    NOTE: If the effective length of the tool used is unknown, consult the manufacturer of the tool.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  10. Connect the radiator inlet hose (A) and over flow hose (B).

  11. Install the high-pressure fuel delivery pipe assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>HIGH PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE>INSTALLATION>HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE ASSEMBLY .
  12. Install the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION .
  13. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  14. Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT>2.5 L MODEL .
