Rear Door Panel

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the trim panel rear door. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Door Trim>REMOVAL>REAR DOOR .
  3. Remove the sealing cover door rear. Refer to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>Sealing Cover>REMOVAL>REAR SEALING COVER .
  4. Remove the speaker assembly rear. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>Rear Speaker>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the glass assembly rear door. Refer to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>Rear Door Glass>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the cover B pillar inner door rear and the cover C pillar inner door rear.
    CAUTION:
    • Always replace with a new part, because engagement of the claw weakens.
    • Do not damage the sash while removing.
    • Sedan model

  7. Remove the weather strip outer door rear and weather strip door rear LWR. Refer to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>Weather Strip>REPLACEMENT>REAR DOOR .
  8. Remove the cover B pillar assembly rear, cover C pillar assembly rear and molding door sash rear. Refer to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>Door Sash(Tape/Molding)>REMOVAL>REAR DOOR .
  9. Remove the regulator and motor assembly rear. Refer to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>Rear Regulator and Motor Assembly>REMOVAL .
  10. Remove the latch and actuator assembly rear. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>Door Latch & Door Lock Actuator Assembly>REMOVAL>REAR .
  11. Remove the handle rear door outer. Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>Door Outer Handle>REMOVAL>REAR .
  12. Remove the weather strip door rear. Refer to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>Weather Strip>REPLACEMENT>REAR DOOR .
  13. Remove the garnish assembly rear door. (OUTBACK model) Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Side Garnish & Side Spoiler>REMOVAL .
  14. Remove the catcher door rear.

  15. Remove the stopper rubber as required.
  16. Remove the bolts and nuts to remove the checker assembly door rear.

  17. Disconnect the rear door harness connectors.
    1. Remove the grommet and pull out the rear door harness connector from inside the center pillar.

    2. Disconnect the rear door harness connectors.

  18. Before removing the panel COMPL door rear, make the following preparations.
    CAUTION:
    • The door panel assembly is heavy. When removing and installing it, always work in a team of two or more persons.
    • Do not excessively lift the door panel assembly with the floor jack. Door hinge may be damaged.
    1. Put a wooden block on a floor jack and place the jack under the panel COMPL door rear.
    2. Support the panel COMPL door rear with the jack to protect it from damage.

  19. Remove the bolts on the hinge assembly door rear UPR and the hinge assembly door rear LWR, and remove the panel COMPL door rear.
  20. Remove the hinge assembly door rear from the vehicle.
