Inhibitor Switch: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Temporarily connect the inhibitor switch, and connect the connector.
  2. Align the projection on the nut stopper with the marking line (A) on the switch body, and install the lock nut.
    NOTE: Because there is some play (B) in the nut stopper projection, align the center of the play range with the marking line (A).

  3. Tighten the nut stopper and lock nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  4. Tighten the bolts holding the inhibitor switch.

    Tightening torque: 

    13 N.m (1.3 kgf-m, 9.6 ft-lb)

  5. Using a flat tip screwdriver or similar tool wrapped with protection tape, crimp the nut stopper.
  6. Install the shifter arm and fix with a new spring pin.
  7. Connect the select cable to the transmission main body.
    CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).

    Tightening torque: 

    25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)

  8. Check the inhibitor switch position and adjust the N range position.
  9. Shift the select lever to "P range".
  10. Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
