DTC P1CFA-12: IGB Signal Circuit Short To Auxiliary Battery: Notes

Outline of diagnosis: 

IGB signal of Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly becomes ON at IG OFF

(1 trip detection logic)

Trouble symptom:

Hybrid system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM (CROSSTREK MODEL (HEV))>HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE SYSTEM>WIRING DIAGRAM .

  1. CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly CONNECTOR)  .

    Check the connecting condition of connector (i370) in Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation and intrusion of water or foreign matter. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE .

    Is there looseness at the connector mating, or any poor contact, deformation or intrusion of water or foreign matter at the relevant terminals?

    Yes  : Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.

    No  : Go to  2.

  2. CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Keyless access Control Module CONNECTOR)  .

    Check the connecting condition of connector (i75) in Keyless access Control Module and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation and intrusion of water or foreign matter. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE .

    Is there looseness at the connector mating, or any poor contact, deformation or intrusion of water or foreign matter at the relevant terminals?

    Yes  : Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.

    No  : Go to  3.

  3. CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (IGB TERMINAL VOLTAGE)  .
    1. Turn the ignition to OFF.
    2. Using a tester, measure the voltage between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and chassis ground. (With the connector connected)

      Connector & terminal 

      (i370) No. 4 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

    Is the voltage less than 1 V?

    Yes  : Replace Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE .

    No  : Go to  4.

  4. CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly - Keyless access Control Module)  .
    1. Disconnect Keyless access Control Module connector (I1).
    2. Using a tester, measure the voltage between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (i370) No. 4 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

    Is the voltage less than 1 V?

    Yes  : Replace Keyless access Control Module. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>KEYLESS ACCESS CONTROL MODULE .

    No  : Repair or replace the Wire harness between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and Keyless access Control Module connector.
