Battery input power (battery voltage x battery current)/charger input power was below 0.5 for a predetermined period of time.

Read the DTC of [P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

Yes : Perform the diagnosis for the simultaneously displayed DTCs.
NOTE: If more than one DTC is simultaneously displayed, perform the diagnosis in the order described in the above.No : Go to 2.
- CHECK DATA MONITOR
.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Charge the battery.
- While charging the battery, display the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control], using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR

- Charger Input Power
Is the voltage deviation between the system voltage and [Charger Input Power] 77 Vrms or more?
(The system voltage indicates the outlet in the repair site or the power voltage used at the stand.)
Yes : Replace Electric vehicle charger assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER .
No : Go to 3.
- CHECK DATA MONITOR
.
While charging the battery, display the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control], using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
- Hybrid Battery Voltage
Is [Hybrid Battery Voltage] 96 V or less?
Yes : Replace HV battery. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY .
No : Go to 4.
- CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (HV battery junction block CONNECTOR)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
- Check the connecting condition of connector (HV54) in HV battery junction block and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation, intrusion of water or foreign matter, and trace of arc.
Is there looseness at the connector mating, or any poor contact, deformation, intrusion of water or foreign matter, or trace of arc at the relevant terminals?
Yes : Connect the connector securely. Or, repair or replace the connector.
No : Go to 5.
- CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Battery ECU assembly CONNECTOR)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Check the connecting condition of connector (HV42) in Battery ECU assembly and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation, intrusion of water or foreign matter, and trace of arc.
Is there looseness at the connector mating, or any poor contact, deformation, intrusion of water or foreign matter, or trace of arc at the relevant terminals?
Yes : Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.
No : Go to 6.
- CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Battery ECU assembly - HV battery junction block) (OPEN CIRCUIT)
.CAUTION:
- Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Never turn to READY ON with Service plug removed to prevent faults.
- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Disconnect HV battery junction block connector (HV54).
- Disconnect Battery ECU assembly connector (HV42).
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between Battery ECU assembly connector and HV battery junction block (BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR) connector.

(HV42) No. 30 - (HV54) No. 2:
(HV42) No. 31 - (HV54) No. 3:
(HV42) No. 7 - (HV54) No. 4:
(HV42) No. 8 - (HV54) No. 1:
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?
Yes : Go to 7.
No : Repair or replace Wire harness between Battery ECU assembly connector and HV battery junction block (BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR) connector.
- CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Battery ECU assembly - HV battery junction block) (SHORT TO GROUND)

- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between Battery ECU assembly connector and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(HV42) No. 30 - Chassis ground:
(HV42) No. 31 - Chassis ground:
(HV42) No. 7 - Chassis ground:
(HV42) No. 8 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance less than 10 kΩ?
Yes : Go to 8.
No : Repair or replace Wire harness between Battery ECU assembly connector and HV battery junction block (BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR) connector.
- CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Battery ECU assembly CONNECTOR)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
Check the connecting condition of connectors (HV39), (HV40), (HV41), (HV38) and (HV37) in Battery ECU assembly, and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation, intrusion of water or foreign matters, and trace of arc.
Is there looseness at the connector mating, or any poor contact, deformation, intrusion of water or foreign matter, or trace of arc at the relevant terminals?
Yes : Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.
No : Replace Electric vehicle charger assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER .
