  4. CHECK THE Charging indicator UNIT  .
    1. Remove the Charging indicator (Charging indicator).
    2. Check illumination status of Charging indicator.

      Connector & terminal

      (AD91) No. 1 - (AD91) No. 4:

Is the Charging indicator as shown below?

When Battery (12V) positive is connected to PIL terminal and Battery (12V) negative is connected to GND terminal: ON

When Battery (12V) positive is not connected to PIL terminal and Battery (12V) negative is not connected to GND terminal: OFF

    Yes  : Go to  5.

No  : Replace Charging indicator. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET .

  5. CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Electric vehicle charger assembly - Charging indicator (Charging indicator))  .
CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
    1. Install the Charging indicator (Charging indicator).
    2. Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
    3. Disconnect Electric vehicle charger assembly connector (HV31).
    4. Disconnect Charging indicator (Charging indicator) connector (AD91).
    5. Using a tester, measure the resistance between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and Charging indicator (Charging indicator) connector.

      Connector & terminal

      (HV31) No. 11 - (AD91) No. 1:

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

    Yes  : Go to  6.

  6. CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Electric vehicle charger assembly - Charging indicator (Charging indicator))  .
CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.

Using a tester, measure the resistance between terminals in Electric vehicle charger assembly connector, and between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and chassis ground.

    Connector & terminal

    (HV31) No. 11 - (HV31) No. 40:

    (HV31) No. 11 - Chassis ground:

Is the resistance 10 kΩ or more?

Yes  : The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.

No  : Repair or replace the Wire harness between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and Charging indicator (Charging indicator) connector.
