Outline of diagnosis:
CAN communication failure with Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly (CAN system error)
(1 trip detection logic)
Trouble symptom:
Plug-in charging suspended

- CHECK DTC
.
Read the DTC of [P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC for [P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control] displayed?
Yes : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST .
No : Go to 2.
- CHECK Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly (VOLTAGE CHECK)

Using a tester, measure the voltage between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and chassis ground. (With the connector connected)
Connector & terminal
(B606) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
(i370) No. 3 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage 11 - 14 V?
Yes : Go to 3.
No : Repair or replace the Wire harness between the Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and chassis ground.
- CHECK THE Electric vehicle charger assembly UNIT
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
- Disconnect Electric vehicle charger assembly connector (HV31).
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between Electric vehicle charger assembly terminals.
Connector & terminal
(HV31) No. 16 - (HV31) No. 17:
Is the resistance 54 - 69 Ω?
Yes : Replace Electric vehicle charger assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER .
No : Go to 4.
- CHECK THE Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly - Electric vehicle charger assembly)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Disconnect Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector (i369).
- Disconnect Battery ECU assembly connector (HV42).
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and Electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
Connector & terminal
(HV31) No. 16 - (B606) No. 35:
(HV31) No. 17 - (B606) No. 34:
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?
Yes : Go to 5.
No : Repair or replace the Wire harness between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and Electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
- CHECK THE Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly - Electric vehicle charger assembly)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
Using a tester, measure the resistance between terminals in Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector, and between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and chassis ground.

Is the resistance 10 kΩ or more?
Yes : Replace Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE .
No : Repair or replace the Wire harness between Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector and Electric vehicle charger assembly connector.
