DTC P0E71-00: Generator Execution Torque Performance: Notes

Detecting condition: 

Generator torque execution monitoring malfunction

When the difference between generator torque command value and generator torque execution value is large

(1 trip detection logic)

Trouble symptom:

  1. CHECK DTC  .

    Read the following DTCs using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    • P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control
    • P-HEV Drive Motor

    When "Only DTC P0E7100 is displayed" or "DTC other than above is displayed at the same time", go to  A.

    When DTCs related to [P-HEV Hybrid Powertrain Control] mentioned above are simultaneously displayed, go to  B.

    When DTCs related to [P-HEV Drive Motor] mentioned above are simultaneously displayed, go to  C.

    Yes: 

    1. Go to  2.
    2. Perform the diagnosis for the simultaneously displayed DTCs.
      NOTE: If more than one DTC is simultaneously displayed, perform the diagnosis in the order described in the above.
    3. Perform the diagnosis for the simultaneously displayed DTCs.
    NOTE: If more than one DTC is simultaneously displayed, perform the diagnosis in the order described in the above.

    No:  -

  2. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA AND DIAGNOSTIC RELATED INFORMATION  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read [Diagnosis Related Information] of [P-HEV Drive Motor]. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT .
    2. Read the DTC of [P-HEV Drive Motor] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    When diagnostic related information DTC P31241F or P312487 is displayed, go to  A.

    When diagnostic related information DTC P31241F or P312487 is not displayed and freeze frame data [Emergency Shutdown Signal] is [ON], go to  B.

    For cases other than above, go to  C.

    Yes: 

    1. Perform the diagnosis of DTC P31241F. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC P31241F LOST COMMUNICATION BETWEEN DRIVE MOTOR "A" AND HV ECU CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT .
    2. Perform the diagnosis of DTC P321E9F. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC P321E9F MOTOR/GENERATOR SHUTDOWN SIGNAL STUCK OFF .
    3. Go to  3.

    No:  -

  3. CHECK THE CONNECTING CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Inverter with converter assembly LOW PRESSURE CONNECTOR)  .
    CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
    1. Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
    2. Check the connecting condition of low pressure connectors (HV23) and (HV24) in Inverter with converter assembly and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation and intrusion of water or foreign matter. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>INVERTER AND CONVERTER ASSEMBLY .
    NOTE: When connecting the connector, insert to the end with the lock lever raised, then fold the lock lever completely until a click is heard. After connected, make sure that the lock claw does not loosen and pull the connector to see that it does not come off.

    Is there looseness at the connector connection, or any poor contact, deformation or intrusion of water or foreign matters at the relevant terminals?

    Yes:  Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.

    No:  Go to  4.

  4. CHECK Shut Down Signal Circuit  .

    Check Shut Down Signal Circuit. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SHUT DOWN SIGNAL CIRCUIT .

    Is the Shut Down Signal Circuit OK?

    Yes:  Go to  5.

    No:  Repair according to Shut Down Signal Circuit inspection. And then, Go to  5.

  5. CHECK GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT  .

    Check GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT .

    Is the GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT OK?

    Yes:  Go to  6.

    No:  Repair according to GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT inspection. And then, Go to  6.

  6. CHECK MOTOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT  .

    Check MOTOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>MOTOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT .

    Is the MOTOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT OK?

    Yes:  Replace Inverter with converter assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>INVERTER AND CONVERTER ASSEMBLY .

    No:  Repair according to MOTOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT inspection.
