Water Pipe LH

  1. Remove the striker - front hood. Ref. to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>FRONT HOOD>DISASSEMBLY .
  2. Fully open the front hood. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>STAY ASSEMBLY - FRONT HOOD .
  3. Collect the refrigerant. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>REFRIGERANT RECOVERY PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .
  4. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  5. Drain engine coolant. (Engine side) Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT>ENGINE SIDE .
  6. Remove the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE DUCT>REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.

  9. Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.

  10. Disconnect the preheater hose (A) and the heater outlet hose (B) from the water pipe LH.

  11. Remove the pitching stopper. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TH2A)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>REMOVAL>PITCHING STOPPER .
  12. Remove the bolt securing the transmission bracket.
    NOTE: This procedure is required to prevent the transmission bracket and ground cord from being damaged during engine removal/installation.

  13. Remove the A/C accumulator assembly. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>ACCUMULATOR>REMOVAL .
  14. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
  15. Remove the nuts which secure the engine mounting to the front crossmember.

  16. Lift up the engine with a lifting device and wire ropes.
    CAUTION: When lifting up the engine, pay attention to the clearance of each part and be careful not to lift the engine too much, in order to prevent damaging the vehicle.

  17. Remove the water pipe LH.
