Section 11 (HVAC System (Heater, Ventilator And A/C) (HEV)): Accumulator: Removal

  1. Using the refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>REFRIGERANT RECOVERY PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Remove the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the under cover - front. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE DUCT>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the cover UPR - front.
    1. Remove the clips, and remove the cover UPR - front.

  7. Remove the bracket - hood stay.
    1. Remove the bolts and remove the bracket - hood stay.

  8. Move the inverter tank. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>INVERTER TANK>REMOVAL .
  9. Remove the bracket - hose - pressure suction COMPL.
    1. Remove the bolt and remove the bracket - hose - pressure suction COMPL.
    2. Remove the inverter tank outlet hose from the clamp.

  10. Disconnect the hose - pressure suction and the hose - pressure suction COMPL.
    1. Remove the bolts and detach the hose - pressure suction.
    2. Remove the bolts and disconnect the hose - pressure suction COMPL.
      CAUTION: Seal the engaging parts of the disconnected hose with plugs or vinyl tape to prevent foreign matter from entering.

  11. Remove the A/C accumulator assembly.
    1. Remove the bolts, then remove the A/C accumulator assembly.

  12. Remove the cable - front hood and the cable - safety.
    1. Remove the cable - front hood (a) and the cable - safety (b).

  13. Remove the bracket - A/C accumulator.
    1. Disconnect the harness clip.
    2. Remove the bolts, then remove the bracket - A/C accumulator.
