EGR Control Valve: Removal

- Remove the collector cover. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the under cover. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>REMOVAL .
- Drain approximately 3.0 L (3.2 US qt, 2.6 Imp qt) of coolant. Refer to COOLING (EXCEPT FOR STI)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Remove the intercooler. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>INTERCOOLER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the EGR pipe. Refer to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>EGR PIPE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the bolts which secure the EGR cooler to the EGR control valve, and remove the bolts which secure the EGR control valve bracket A to the EGR control valve bracket B.
- Disconnect the connector (A) and preheater hose (B) from EGR control valve, and remove the EGR control valve.
