HVAC System (Heater, Ventilator And A/C): Evaporator: Installation
CAUTION:
- Do not start the engine before charging refrigerant.
- If the engine is started with no refrigerant charge, replace the compressor.
- If the evaporator has been replaced, add an appropriate amount of compressor oil to the evaporator. Refer to ADJUSTMENT .
- When the evaporator has been replaced, always replace the packing for expansion valve with a new one and apply the compressor oil on it.
- Make sure that the water seal packing on the cover attachment area is securely attached.
- Replace the O-rings with new parts, and then apply compressor oil.
- Install the evaporator sensor at the position shown in the figure below.
- Install the evaporator sensor to the specified location. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install each part in the reverse order of removal.NOTE: Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Fill engine coolant.
- H4 model: Refer to FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- H6 model: Refer to FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Charge refrigerant. Refer to
PROCEDURE .
Tightening torque:
Heater cooling unit: Refer to HEATER COOLING UNIT .
Blower motor unit: Refer to BLOWER MOTOR UNIT .
Air conditioning unit: Refer to AIR CONDITIONING UNIT .
Engine control module (ECM): 7.5 N.m (0.76 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
