Remove/Install Brake Line From Master Brake Cylinder To The ESP® Hydraulic Unit - AR42.10-P-0034SR

CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid.
Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid
Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove coolant expansion reservoir   AR20.30-P-4950SR
2 Remove brake fluid reservoir   AR42.10-P-0301SR 
INSPECT Check     
3 Check connections of brake line (1 or 2) for color coding IMPORTANTWIS Service Media 
If a connection that is marked in a color needs to be disconnected.

Replace corresponding brake line (1, 2).
IMPORTANT The connections of a new brake line (1, 2) must not be marked in color.
 
4.1 Check the combination of connections of brake lines (1, 2) from master brake cylinder (4) to hydraulic unit (3) Model 453.### 1#
IMPORTANT The brake line (1) must run between the front connection of master brake cylinder (4) and left connection of hydraulic unit (3) (arrows A).
The brake line (2) must run between the rear connection of master brake cylinder (4) and right connection of hydraulic unit (3) (arrows B). If this is not the case

Replace both brake lines (1, 2) with corresponding brake lines.
IMPORTANT Suitable brake lines can be ordered via EPC.
 
4.2 Mark installation position of brake line (1 or 2) at master brake cylinder (4) and hydraulic unit (3) Model 453.### 2# IMPORTANT Do not use any color.  
5 Release connecting clip (5) from brake line (1 or 2)    
6 Remove brake line (1 or 2) and collect escaping brake fluid
Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths
INSTALLATION NOTES : Do not bend brake lines (1, 2) and ensure chafe-free routing.
Otherwise brake lines (1, 2) may be damaged.
IMPORTANT Model 453.### 1#
installation  : Check the combination of connections of brake lines (1, 2) from master brake cylinder (4) to hydraulic unit (3) (arrows A, B).

installation  : Observe the marks of installation positions.

TORQUE SPECIFICATION Retaining screw, brake line to hydraulic unit *BA42.10-P-1004-04SR 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Retaining screw, brake line to master brake cylinder *BA42.10-P-1003-04SR 
7 Seal all connections with stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Figure
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Bleed brake system   AR42.10-P-0010SR 
INSPECT Check     
10 Check brake system in area of brake lines (1, 2) for leaktightness

REFER TO MAINTENANCE
Carry out brake test on the test stand   AP42.00-P-4290MCC
