Drain/pour in coolant - AR20.00-P-1142OGE

DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

  Drain off     
1 Open engine hood ENGINE 642 in MODEL 212, 218  
ENGINE 642 in MODEL 212 AR88.40-P-1000EW
2 Unscrew coolant cap (3) on coolant expansion reservoir IMPORTANT Turn the coolant cap (3) counterclockwise one half-turn, release the pressure, then unscrew the coolant cap (3).  
3 Remove front and center bottom section of soundproofing   AR94.30-P-5300EW
4 Slide the drain hose on to the left fitting (2) at the radiator    
5 Loosen radiator drain plug (1) and drain off coolant. NOTES
Only remove radiator drain plug (1) until coolant flows off.
Permanent damage to the radiator drain plug (1) will occur otherwise.
IMPORTANT Observe regulations to dispose of coolant.
IMPORTANT Catch coolant in a suitable container.
 
6 Tighten radiator drain plug (1)    
7 Detach drain hose from fitting (2)    
  Pour in     
8 Pour in coolant and ventilate engine cooling system

9 Check engine cooling system for leaktightness   AR20.00-P-1010OMA 
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Perform an engine test run and check engine cooling system for proper operation    
11 Install front and center bottom section of soundproofing   AR94.30-P-5300EW
12 Close engine hood ENGINE 642 in MODEL 212, 218
