Remove/install rear shock absorber - AR32.25-P-0110EW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  . Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of the mechanism when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1 Remove rear wheel    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP40.10-P-4050EW
    NOTES While working on the rear axle, care must be taken to ensure that the surface of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches.
Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.
 
2 Remove fender liner.    
3 Detach cover (6f) from spring control arm (6) IMPORTANT Compress locks (6e) of cover (6f) using sleeve or box wrench (arrow).  
4 Unscrew nut (5) and pull bolt (4) out of spring control arm (6) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking nut, shock absorber to spring control arm *BA32.25-P-1001-03M 
5 Remove side paneling in trunk MODEL 212.0/1
without CODE 488 (Steel/air suspension)
without CODE 489 (AIRMATIC (air suspension with continuous damper adjustment))

without CODE 488 (Steel/air suspension)
without CODE 489 (AIRMATIC (air suspension with continuous damper adjustment))

6 Unscrew nuts (1) from support bushing (2) IMPORTANT Self-locking nut, damper to body *BA32.25-P-1002-03M 
7 Push shock absorber (7) together and remove    
INSPECT Check     
8 Check shock absorber (7)   AR32.25-P-0121CW 
IMPORTANT Replace if necessary.  
9 Check support bushing (2) for damage IMPORTANT Replace if necessary.  
10 Check lower rubber mount (7a) IMPORTANT Replace shock absorber (7) if necessary.  
11 Unscrew nut (8) from piston rod (9) If replacing the damper (7).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking nut, damper to piston rod *BA32.25-P-1003-03M 
12 Remove support bushing (2) with stop buffer (7b) and protective tube (7c) If replacing the damper (7).  
13 Install in the reverse order
