Correct front inclination angle (∠ 1)

For inclination angle correction at the rear engine crossmember (34) or at the rear engine mount, mount shop-made shims. A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17°.

The bolt length should be increased by 5 mm when using shims with a thickness of >2 mm If a shim with thickness of >5 mm is required, the front and rear engine mounts must be checked for signs of settling or wear and replaced if necessary.

Support transmission.
Remove rear engine crossmember (34).
Depending on the correction insert the shop-made shims between the rear engine crossmember (34) and frame floor or between the rear engine mount and the rear engine crossmember (34).
The dimensions for the shims must be taken from the corresponding part; see the picture below.
Install rear engine cross member (34). MODEL 172, 204, 207, 212, 218, 231
Observe specified tightening torque.
Remove telescopic lifter and transmission plate.
