Remove/install belt drive components - AR13.20-P-0001EWS

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by moving parts that can pinch, crush  or, in extreme cases, even sever  extremities No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
1 Pull out front engine cover (1) upwards from mounts    
2 Slacken poly-V belt (2), take off and detension tensioner pulley IMPORTANT To do this use a hexagon (4) on the poly-V belt tensioning device (3).  
INSPECT Checking     
3 Check profile of belt pulley and poly-V belt tensioning device (3) for damage and soiling    
4 Check poly-V belt (2) for wear and damage and replace if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check visible area of poly-V belt for wear AP13.22-P-1352EW 
IMPORTANT Perform steps 5 through 8 when removing poly-V belt tensioning device (3)     
5 Replace poly-V belt tensioning device (3) with drift (8)    
6 Remove bolts (3b) and poly-V belt tensioning device (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1001-01P 
INSPECT Checking     
7 Check poly-V belt tensioning device (3) for damage and soiling; replace if necessary    
8 Remove drift (8) and detension poly-V belt tensioning device (3) Only when replacing the poly-V belt tensioning device (3)  
IMPORTANT Perform steps 9 through 10 only when removing guide pulleys (5)     
9 Pry off covers (5b)    
10 Remove bolts (5a) and remove guide pulleys(5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA20.10-P-1004-01U 
INSTALLING Install     
11 Fit on and tension (2) as per routing diagram and tension IMPORTANT To do this use a hexagon (4) on the poly-V belt tensioning device (3).
NOTES Do not use wax or similar products, as this may cause poly-V belt (2) to slip.

12 Install front engine cover (1)    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

13 Carry out engine test run
