Replace rear crankshaft radial sealing ring - AR03.20-P-3063EL

MODIFICATION NOTES

16.3.11 Special tool 271 589 00 43 00 replaced by special tool 273 589 00 43 00   AR03.20-P-3063-01MMA 
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove driven plate   AR03.30-P-8001EL
REMOVING Clean     
2 Clean crankcase (2) and oil pan (3) in area of the end cover (4) Cleaner from package *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
3 Remove bolts (4a, 4b) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.40-P-1002-01K 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.45-P-1001-01E 
4 Loosen end cover (4) with crankshaft radial sealing ring (5) from crankcase (2) NOTES Do not  hit tool for prying off between end cover (4) and crankcase (2); the sealing surface will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Fit tool for prying off onto side recess clearances of end cover (4). If required heat up sealant with hot air gun.		  
5 Remove end cover (4) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Notes on sealant application and on the correct installation position of lips of crankshaft radial sealing ring (5) must be strictly observed: ↓  
Install rear crankshaft radial seal (5) AR03.20-P-3063-01MMA 
Engine 276 AR03.20-P-3063-01MMA 
Engine 157, 278 AR03.20-P-3063-01MMB 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.40-P-1002-01K 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.45-P-1001-01E 
SPECIAL TOOL Figure
Loctite 5970 sealant *BR00.45-Z-1013-01A 
Cleaner from package *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
CLEAN Clean     
6 Clean sealing surfaces for end cover (4) NOTES Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper as this will damage the sealing surfaces. AR01.00-P-0050-01A
Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
Cleaning spray, Loctite 7063 (150ml) *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
7 Install in the reverse order    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.		 AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Carry out an engine test run and check engine for leaks
