Remove/install power steering pump - AR46.30-P-0500EWI

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
NOTES Notes on avoiding damage through contamination and foreign objects   AH00.00-P-5000-01A
    NOTES Before opening the hydraulic system the area surrounding the separation point should be cleaned thoroughly. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system.  
1 Open engine hood Models 207, 212 AR88.40-P-1000EW
Model 172 AR88.40-P-1000V
2 Remove engine cover and engine air intake duct    
3 Remove poly-V belt   AR13.20-P-0001OMA
4 Suction off oil from expansion reservoir (5) SPECIAL TOOL Figure
5 Unclip vacuum lines from expansion reservoir (5) and place to one side    
6 Unfasten clamp (6) and detach line (5f) from expansion reservoir (5) IMPORTANT Seal connections. Check clamp (6) and line (5f) for condition, replace if necessary.

7 Detach high pressure expansion hose (5i) from power steering pump (4); to do this, remove bolt (3) IMPORTANT Collect escaping oil with dry cloth and seal connections immediately.
IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring of high pressure expansion hose (5i).

8 Disconnect electrical connector on power steering pump (4)    
9 Remove bolts (4a) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1002-01T 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1010-01R 
10 Remove bolt (4c), remove power steering pump (4) with expansion reservoir (5) and bracket (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1010-01T 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1011-01R 
11 Remove bolts (4b) and remove bracket (2) from power steering pump (4) When replacing the power steering pump (4)  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1009-01T 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1012-01R 
12 Detach expansion reservoir (5) from power steering pump (4) When replacing the power steering pump (4) AR46.25-P-1000EWI 
13 Install in the reverse order    
14 Fill and bleed power steering pump (4) Model 172 AR46.30-P-0010V
