Remove/install hydraulic line of power steering - AR46.25-P-3015EW

MODEL 212 with ENGINE 272, 273, 276, 642, 651 Pressure line of the power steering

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000EW
2.1 Remove left engine intake air duct and engine cover MODEL 212 with ENGINE 272, 273, 276, 642 Pressure line of the power steering
IMPORTANT Pull off engine cover upwards.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ignition switched off.
 
2.2 Remove engine air intake duct and engine cover MODEL 212 with ENGINE 651 Pressure line of the power steering
IMPORTANT Pull off engine cover upwards.
 
2.3 Remove front upper engine cover. MODEL 212 with ENGINE 276 Pressure line of the power steering  
3 Suction off oil from expansion reservoir (5) of power steering SPECIAL TOOL Hand pump Figure
4.1 Remove engine compartment panels MODEL 212 with ENGINE 272, 273, 276 Pressure line of the power steering

4.2 Remove bottom section of soundproofing MODEL 212 with ENGINE 642, 651 Pressure line of the power steering

5 Detach pressure line (1) from the power steering pump (4) NOTES Before opening the hydraulic system, thoroughly clean the area surrounding the separation point.
Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system.
IMPORTANT Collect oil which runs out and seal connections immediately.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Attachment, high pressure expansion hose to power steering pump *BA46.30-P-1004-01T

6 Detach pressure line (1) from bracket to A/C compressor MODEL 212 with ENGINE 273 Pressure line of the power steering  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, high-pressure line to alternator bracket *BA46.30-P-1007-01T 
7.1 Detach pressure line (1) with two brackets from oil pan MODEL 212 with ENGINE 651 Pressure line of the power steering
IMPORTANT When replacing the pressure line (1) the brackets must be assembled onto the new pressure line (1).
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, high-pressure line to oil pan bracket *BA46.30-P-1012-01T 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, bracket to oil pan *BA46.30-P-1013-01T 
7.2 Remove nut (1a) and remove pressure line (1) from bracket MODEL 212 with ENGINE 272, 273, 276, 642 Pressure line of the power steering  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, high-pressure line to alternator bracket *BA46.30-P-1006-01T 
8 Remove bolt (3) and remove pressure line (1) IMPORTANT Collect oil which runs out and seal connections immediately.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, clamp plate, high-pressure line/return line to rack-and-pinion steering control head *BA46.20-P-1003-01N 
SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Figure
9 Install in the reverse order    
10 Fill and bleed power steering pump (4)   AR46.30-P-0010EW 
INSPECT Check     
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

11 Test run engine and check steering system for leaks
