Triggering alarm with panic switch, function - GF80.50-P-3014FLU

Function requirements, general 

Alarm triggered by panic switch, general 

With the panic alarm it is possible to trigger the visual and acoustic antitheft alarm (ATA [EDW]) with the transmitter key (A8/1) (e.g. in an emergency).

IMPORTANT Function sequence when panic alarm and ATA alarm are triggered simultaneously:

The panic alarm has priority over the ATA alarm.

If both alarms are actuated the panic alarm with the higher priority is output and the ATA alarm is suppressed. The ATA alarm is output if it is still present after the panic alarm has expired.

Alarm actuation by the panic switch comprises the following partial functions:

Function sequence for actuating panic alarm 

Vehicles without code (889) KEYLESS-GO:

When the panic alarm button the transmitter key is pressed for t ≥ 2 s, it transmits a radio signal via the rear window antenna (A2/32), FM 1, AM, ZV and KEYLESS-GO antenna amplifier (A2/18), rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and interior CAN (CAN B) to the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73).

Vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go:

When the panic alarm button on the transmitter key is pressed for t ≥ 2 s, it sends a radio signal over the rear window antenna and the FM 1, AM, CL and KEYLESS-GO antenna amplifier to the KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5). The KEYLESS-GO control unit sends the radio signal to the electronic ignition lock control unit via interior CAN. Parallel to the radio signal, the transmitter key transmits infrared signals via the driver side front door infrared remote control receiver (A26/1) (precise aiming required), left rear door control unit (N69/1) and interior CAN to the electronic ignition lock control unit.

IMPORTANT The infrared and radio signals include the same information (redundant); the first signal received is accepted.

The electronic ignition lock control unit checks the corresponding access authorization and transmits the request for switching on the panic alarm to the rear SAM control unit via the interior CAN.

Additional function requirements for panic alarm output 

Function sequence for panic alarm output 

The alarm is output visually via the turn signal lamps (hazard warning flasher) and acoustically via the alarm siren (H3/1) (up to 31.5.10) or left horn (H2) and right horn (H2/1) (as of 1.6.10).

In addition the interior illumination is switched on.

Hazard warning flasher:

The rear SAM control unit transmits the signal "Panic alarm triggered" via the interior CAN to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1), which activates the hazard warning flasher function.

IMPORTANT Detailed information on performing the hazard warning flasher function is included in the function description "Exterior lights, function" in the partial function "Turn signal light actuation, function".

Interior illumination:

The rear SAM control unit transmits the "Panic alarm triggered" signal via interior CAN to the front SAM control unit, which activates the interior illumination.

IMPORTANT Detailed information on performing the interior illumination function is included in the function description "Interior illumination, function" in the partial function "Automatic interior illumination function".

Acoustic alarm output:

When an ATA [EDW] alarm is triggered, the rear SAM control unit on vehicles up to 31.5.10 actuates the alarm siren via SAM-LIN (LIN B4) or on vehicles as of 1.6.10 transmits the "Panic alarm triggered" signal to the front SAM control unit via the interior CAN. Then the SAM control unit actuates the horns via the horn relays (N10/1kO).

The duration of optical and acoustic panic alarms is identical but stored separately in the alarm siren (up to 31.5.10) and in the rear SAM control unit.

Interrupting function sequence for panic alarm 

The panic alarm is interrupted when the panic alarm button on the transmitter key is actuated briefly.

The function sequence for interrupting the panic alarm is the same as for actuating the panic alarm.
