Convenience feature (CF), function - GF80.45-P-0003FL
MODEL 212
Function requirements, general
- Power window normalized
- Tilting/sliding roof normalized (with code (414) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof)
- Panoramic sliding roof control module normalized (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof)
Convenience feature (CF), general
The CF function allows the side windows and tilting/sliding roof or panoramic sliding sunroof to be opened and closed centrally.
On vehicles with code (401) Front comfort seats including seat heater and seat ventilation, the seat ventilation is also activated when opening with the transmitter key.
The CF comprises the following subfunctions:
- Function sequence for CF (opening/closing) via transmitter key
- Function sequence for CF (opening/closing) via air recirculation button (without code (494) USA version)
- Function sequence for CF (locking) via KEYLESS-GO (with code (889) KEYLESS-GO)
Additional function requirements for CF (opening/closing) via transmitter key
- Circuit 15C OFF
- Doors closed
The electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the terminal status 15 via the interior CAN.
The status of the left front door is sensed by the left front door control unit, the status of the right front door by the right front door control unit.).
The rear SAM control unit senses the status of the rear doors and the trunk lid (model 212.0/1) or trunk lid (model 212.2).
The information is sent via the interior CAN.
Function sequence for CF (opening/closing) via transmitter key
When the unlock and lock button on the transmitter key is actuated for t > 2 s, it transmits infrared signals with access authorization to the left front door control unit via the driver front door infrared remote control receiver (precise aiming required) and a direct line. The left front door control unit sends this information over the interior CAN to the electronic ignition lock control unit. The electronic ignition switch control unit checks the transmitter key's access authorization. If the access authorization is valid, the electronic ignition lock control unit transmits it to the left door control unit.
The left door control unit then actuates the left front door power window motor accordingly and transmits the signal "Convenience feature mode" and "Convenience feature direction" to the following control units:
- Right front door control unit:
The right front door control unit actuates the right front door power window motor.
- Left rear door control unit:
The left rear door control unit actuates the left rear door power window motor.
- Right rear door control unit:
The right rear door control unit actuates the left rear door power window motor.
- Overhead control panel control unit (with code (414) Power glass tilting/sliding sunroof)
The overhead control panel control unit actuates the tilting/sliding roof motor in the tilting/sliding roof drive unit.
- Panoramic sliding sunroof control unit (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof)
The panoramic sliding roof control unit in the panoramic sliding roof control module actuates the panoramic sliding roof motor an the panoramic sliding roof roller sun blind motor in the panoramic sliding roof roller sun blind drive unit.
Where applicable, the sun blinds are opened before opening the panoramic sliding sunroof. The panoramic sliding roof is opened only upon a new request. During comfort closing, the roller sun blinds are closed only after the panoramic sliding roof is closed and after a new request.
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (with code (401) Front comfort seats including seat heater and seat ventilation): During comfort opening, the rear SAM control unit activates the seat ventilation in stage 3 over the left front seat ventilation blower regulator and right front seat ventilation blower regular. The left front seat ventilation blower regulator actuates the left front seat cushion seat ventilation motor and left front seat backrest seat ventilation motor. The right front seat ventilation blower regulator actuates the right front seat cushion seat ventilation motors and the right front seat backrest seat ventilation motors. During comfort closing the seat ventilation is switched off.
With version coding it is possible to set whether the seat ventilation is activated for the driver seat only or for both front seats.
Function sequence for CF (opening/closing) via air recirculation button (without code (494) USA version)
- Terminal 15 ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the status of terminal 15 to the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit via the interior CAN.
Function sequence for CF (opening/closing) via air recirculation button (without code (494) USA version)
When the air recirculation button on the automatic air conditioning operation and control unit is pressed for longer than t = 2 s, the function is started.
When the air recirculation mode is switched on, the open side windows and the tilting/sliding roof or the panoramic roof sliding roof are closed.
Previously store current position. When the air recirculation mode is switched on, the side windows and the tilting/sliding roof or the panoramic roof sliding roof are closed to previously stored position.
The automatic climate control and operating unit transmits the corresponding requests via interior CAN to the following control units:
- Left front door control unit
- Right front door control unit
- Left rear door control unit
- Right rear door control unit
- Overhead control panel control unit or panoramic sliding roof control unit
Actuation of individual actuators is described in section "Function sequence for CF [KFB] via transmitter key".
Additional function requirements for CF (locking) via KEYLESS-GO (with code (889) KEYLESS-GO)
- Circuit 15C OFF
- Doors closed
- Vehicle locked
- A valid transmitter key is located outside the vehicle and in the vicinity (s = 1 m) of the KEYLESS-GO door handle
The electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the status of circuit 15 and the central locking status over the interior CAN.
The status of the left front door is sensed by the left front door control unit, the status of the right front door by the right front door control unit.). The rear SAM control unit senses the status of the rear doors and the trunk lid (model 212.0/1) or trunk lid (model 212.2).
The information is sent via the interior CAN.
Detailed information on position determination and checking access authorization of the transmitter key is given in the separate partial function "KEYLESS-GO function".
Function sequence for CF (locking) via KEYLESS-GO (with code (889) KEYLESS-GO)
When the comfort sensor on a KEYLESS-GO door handle is actuated, the comfort closing function is requested. The KEYLESS-GO control unit reads in the status of the comfort sensor on a KEYLESS-GO door handle and sends the "Confront closing" request to the following control units via the interior CAN:
- Left front door control unit
- Right front door control unit
- Left rear door control unit
- Right rear door control unit
- Overhead control panel control unit or panoramic sliding roof control unit
Actuation of individual actuators is described in section "Function sequence for CF [KFB] via transmitter key".
Convenience closing is interrupted in the following cases:
- When another comfort sensor is touched
- When the comfort sensor is no longer touched
- After max. t = 90 s
- If another central locking command is present
If during comfort closed or max. t = 2 s after the same KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled, the emergency opening function is activated. In this case, the side windows, the tilting/sliding roof or the panoramic sliding roof are actuated in the opening direction. Actuation is performed for min. t = 2 s or as long as the KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled, max. for t = 90 s.
