Remove/install fuel pump control unit - AR47.20-P-5717EW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Connect up STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out variant coding from fuel pump control unit (N118) When replacing the FSCU (N118).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer stored data onto the new fuel pump control unit (N118).

2 Remove rear seat cushion Model 212 without code (224) Individual rear set system design AR91.12-P-1020CW

3 Remove paneling on weatherstrip (1)    
4 Detach weatherstrip (1) in the area of the FSCU (N118)    
5 Unscrew nut for the right sidebag paneling (2) below NOTES Carefully unscrew nut in order to avoid damaging the vehicle paintwork in the entrance area.  
6 Carefully pull the sidebag paneling (2) upwards and place to one side    
7 Push release button (3a) downwards and remove FSCU (N118) in direction of the arrow out of the bracket (3)    
8 Unlock electrical connectors at fuel pump control unit (N118) and disconnect    
9 Install in the reverse order    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
