	Remove/install
	Risk of injury caused by fingers being pinched or crushed when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof	Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1	Switch off ignition
2	Remove air filter housing		AR09.10-P-1150CMG
3	Remove foam cover from fuel distributor (2)
4	Remove ignition coils		AR15.12-P-2003CMG
5	Disconnect purge line (4) at purge valve	When removing LH cylinder head cover.
6	Unscrew bolt (3), place purge line (4) to one side	When removing LH cylinder head cover.
7	Unscrew bolt (5) and take out bracket (8)		*BA01.30-P-1006-01U
8	Unclip retaining clamps (6)
9	Loosen bolts of cylinder head cover (1) in the reverse order of the tightening procedure and remove them		AR01.20-P-5014-03AMG

10	Remove cylinder head cover (1)	To avoid damaging the sealing surfaces, do not insert tools between cylinder head cover and cylinder head to pry off.
11	Install in the reverse order
	Checking
	Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. 12	Conduct engine test run and check engine for leaks
