Drain/pour in coolant - AR20.00-P-1142MEV

DANGER Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

  Drain off     
1 Detach key and battery charger power supply plug    
2 Remove maintenance flap    
3 Turn cap (1) on expansion reservoir (2) half a revolution counterclockwise, relieve overpressure and then unscrew cap (1)    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
4 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift    
5 Remove underfloor paneling INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only reinstall underfloor paneling after the leak test.  
6 Open hose clamps (6) and push back onto the coolant hoses (5) SPECIAL TOOL Hose clamp pliers Figure
7 Detach coolant hoses (5) at the hose connectors (4) IMPORTANT Collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.
For further work close off the hose connectors (4) using suitable stop plugs.
 
  Pour in     
8 Attach coolant hoses (5) at the hose connectors (4)    
9 Position and attach hose clamps (6) at the coolant hoses (5)    
10 Lower vehicle with vehicle lift    
11 Bleed cooling system via expansion reservoir (2)   AR20.00-P-1142-06MCD

    IMPORTANT The coolant level in the expansion reservoir (2) must be level with the maximum mark.
