DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

INSPECT Check
1 Remove maintenance flap
2 Turn cap (1) on expansion reservoir (2) half a revolution counterclockwise, relieve overpressure and then unscrew cap (1)
3 Check coolant level in expansion reservoir (2), correct if necessary
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Coolant specifications   Coolant (Specification 310.1). See https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Anticorrosion/antifreeze agents (Sheet 325.0) IMPORTANT The coolant level in the expansion reservoir (2) must be level with the maximum mark. Anticorrosion/antifreeze agents (Specification 325.0). See https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1
4 Attach pressure pump on expansion reservoir (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Figure
5 Apply a pressure of a max. 1.6 bar to the cooling system
6 Observe pressure gauge on pressure pump for pressure drop in cooling system
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
7 Raise vehicle using the vehicle lift and remove underfloor paneling
8 Check all components of cooling system for leaktightness and establish coolant loss IMPORTANT Remove cause of the coolant loss if necessary; then repeat the check.
9 Install underfloor paneling
10 Lower vehicle with vehicle lift
11 Remove pressure in cooling system at pressure pump and disconnect pressure pump on expansion reservoir (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Figure
12 Seal expansion reservoir (2) with cap (1)
13 Install maintenance flap
