Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain air conditioning system INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Evacuate air conditioning and then fill it. AR83.30-P-1760MCC 
2 Disconnect air conditioning service unit    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 04 82 00 Air conditioning service unit   WS83.00-P-0031B 
3 Remove transmitter key and mains plug    
4 Connect Star Diagnosis and enable high voltage on-board electrical system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT Print out power disable event log and add to the vehicle file.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Activate high-voltage system.

5 Remove interior flap above engine   AR88.40-P-1100-03MCC
6 Separate cable tie (5) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace cable tie (5).  
7 Release and disconnect refrigerant compressor control unit connector (EAC) (N116/1x1)    
8 Release and disconnect refrigerant compressor HV connector (EAC) (N116/1x2)    
9 Fit protective covers on refrigerant compressor HV connector (EAC) (N116/1x2) on line side and component side. NOTES Protect the refrigerant compressor HV connector (EAC) (N116/1x2) against dirt and moisture.
Otherwise, consequential damage may occur on the high voltage on-board electrical system
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Fig 3
10 Remove screw/bolt (7) at bracket (8)    
11 Remove screw/bolt (1) at refrigerant intake line (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, refrigerant line to refrigerant compressor *BA83.55-P-1003-01V 
12 Remove screw/bolt (3) at refrigerant pressure line (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, refrigerant line to refrigerant compressor *BA83.55-P-1003-01V 
13 Remove refrigerant intake line (2) and refrigerant pressure line (4), place to one side and remove sealing rings of refrigerant intake line (2) and refrigerant pressure line (4)    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Compressor oils (specification 362.1) NOTES Close off refrigerant intake line (2), refrigerant pressure line (4) and electric refrigerant compressor (A9/6) with suitable stop plugs. Otherwise penetrating dirt and moisture will damage components that are connected to the refrigerant circuit.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings at refrigerant lines (2, 4) and moisten with compressor oil when inserting.

14 Unscrew bolt (9)    
DANGER Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.
Raise vehicle with vehicle lift
Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
16 Remove screw/bolt (10) and remove bracket (11)    
17 Remove screws/bolts (12, 13) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, refrigerant compressor to transmission carrier *BA83.55-P-1010-01V 
18 Lower vehicle with vehicle lift    
19 Unscrew screw/bolt (6) and remove electric refrigerant compressor (A9/6) from above TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, refrigerant compressor to transmission carrier *BA83.55-P-1010-01V 
20 Replace dehydrator   AR83.30-P-6525MCC 
21 Install in the reverse order
