Air Conditioning and Heater Module Assembly Removal and Installation

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) .
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the evaporator tube from the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement .
  4. Remove the heater inlet hose from the heater core. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LE5)  or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LNF) .
  5. Remove the heater outlet hose from the heater core. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LNF)  or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LE5) .
  6. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) tie bar. Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement (Solstice) or Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement (SKY) .
  7. Disconnect the HVAC module assembly electrical connectors.
1 HVAC Module Assembly Nut (Qty: 5)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

2 HVAC Assembly Module
Tip:  Note routing of wiring harness to ensure proper installation.
