Preliminary Work

  1. Partly remove the engine wire harness. → WM 975219 Removing and installing wire harness for engine
  2. Remove bar ignition modules. → Removing bar ignition modules
  3. Remove intake-air distributor. → Removing intake-air distributor
  4. Remove drive belt. → Removing and installing drive belt
  5. Remove belt tensioner. → Removing belt tensioner

  6. Remove cylinder head cover (valve cover). → Removing cylinder head cover 
  7. Remove upper  timing-case cover. → Removing upper timing-case cover 
  8. Set cylinder 1 to compression TDC. → Subsequent work 
  9. Remove the timing chain from the camshaft controllers and put it to one side. → Removing camshaft controller 
  10. Remove camshaft controllers. → Removing camshaft controller 
  11. Remove timing chain housing.
