Subsequent Work

  1. Fit joint flange and cable plug for oil pressure control valve. → 172619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE (SOLENOID VALVE) ON 4.8-LITRE DFI ENGINES 
  2. Fit ATF lines on the oil guide housing. → Installing Line For ATF Cooling
  3. Fit the oil pan. → Installing Oil Pan 
  4. Insert and fit the oil level sensor by turning it. Plug in connector and lay the cable. Fit screws → Installing Oil Level Sensor

  5. On turbo engines, fit the two side oil extraction lines -5-  and (bottom illustration) -8-  on the oil guide housing.

    1. Turbocharger vent line for cylinders 1 to 4; vent line to turbocharger oil extraction line → Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ft lbs.);  holding clamp on vent line to collection pipe, M6 screw → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.);  holding clamp on vent line to collection pipe, M6 nut → Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (5.0 ft lbs.) 
    2. Turbocharger oil feed line for cylinders 1 to 4; turbocharger oil feed line to connection piece → Tightening torque: 40 Nm (30 ft lbs.);  turbocharger oil feed line to cylinder head → Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ft lbs.) 
    3. Connection piece → Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 ft lbs.) 
    4. Sealing ring
    5. Oil extraction line
    6. Screw, M6 x 12 → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) 
    7. Screw, M6 x 16 → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) 
    8. Seal for turbocharger, cylinders 1 to 4

    1. Oil feed line for turbocharger, cylinders 5 to 8
    2. Nut, M6 → Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (5 ft lbs.) 
    3. Holding clamp
    4. Vent line on turbocharger for cylinders 5 to 8 → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) 
    5. Holding clamp
    6. Screw, M6 x 12; turbocharger oil feed line holder to lower part of crankcase → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.);  holding clamp for oil feed line to holder → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) 
    7. Screw, M6 x 16 → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) 
    8. Oil extraction line
    9. Seal for turbocharger, cylinders 5 to 8
    10. Sealing ring
    11. Connection piece
    12. Clamp
    13. Holder for oil feed line
  6. Install engine carrier. → Installing engine carrier

  7. Install front-axle carrier with steering gear and front-axle final drive (All-wheel final drive). Pay attention to the PDCC line connections when doing so. The connections between the components and the body must be fitted. For more information, see → and → Installing front-axle carrier and → Installing four-wheel final drive and → Installing Steering Gear The front axle is removed complete with spring struts, steering gear and front-axle final drive still fitted -1, 2, 3-  . → .

  8. Remove engine bridge.
  9. Install oil dipstick. → Installing Guide Tube For Oil Dipstick 
  10. Fill in engine oil. For details, see → 170117 CHANGING ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER ON DFI ENGINES .
  11. Fit front wire assembly to the oil pan for PDCC.

  12. Connect coolant supply line to the oil/water heat exchanger. Connect the coolant hoses to the oil/water heat exchanger at the same time. Remove hose clamps.
  13. Clip in coolant hoses on the oil/water heat exchanger.

  14. Fit vibration balancer. → Installing vibration balancer (crankshaft pulley)
  15. Install engine guard. → Installing engine guard
  16. Bleed and fill the cooling system. → 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING IN COOLANT ON DFI ENGINES (INCLUDES BLEEDING)
  17. Align the front axle and bleed all open systems.
  18. Carry out a check. After test-driving the vehicle, check the engine for leaks. Then check the oil level.
