Preliminary Work

  1. Remove all engine compartment covers. → Removing front trim (engine compartment)
  2. Remove engine. → Removing engine
  3. Remove transmission.

    4. 3.2.1. Remove drive plate for torque converter. → Removing drive plate for torque converter on DFI engines
  4. Remove intake-air distributor. → Removing intake-air distributor
  5. Remove cylinder head cover. → Removing Cylinder Head Cover
  6. Remove the timing-case cover at the top and bottom. → Removing Upper Timing-Case Cover
  7. Set crankshaft to compression TDC for cylinder 1 → see Figure. → Checking The Timing
  8. Remove timing chains. → Removing Timing Chains
