Installing frame for sliding roof cover

SLIDING ROOF COVER FRAME INSTALLING PROCEDURE - TARGA (1 OF 2)

No.	Procedure	Instructions
	Requirement for installing the frame for the sliding roof cover	To install the frame of the cover for the sliding roof, the mounts must be in a horizontal position. - By actuating the rocker switch. or - See Sliding roof emergency operation mechanism .
1	Installing the frame for the sliding roof cover into the roof module frame	Guide the frame for the sliding roof cover -4-5-2 and 3- . See Fig 1.
2	Screwing in fastening screws	Screw in fastening screws -1-Loctite medium strength- . See Fig 1.
3	Adjusting frame for sliding roof cover	1. The mounting plates of the front and rear mounts -2, 3- must be braced against each other. Beginning at the right front and rear, insert a wide screwdriver between the mounting plate of the mount and the frame -arrow- and press the mounting plate of the mount outwards. See Fig 1.
		2. Adjust the mounting plate parallel -dimension X- to the roof module. See Fig 1.
		3. Tighten the fastening screws -1-. . See Fig 1. See Tightening torques .
4	Fitting tie-wrap	Fit the tie-wrap -arrow- . See Fig 1.

CAUTION: Malfunction in the sliding roof cover!

If the mounting plates of the mounts -2, 3- are not preloaded adequately against each other, rattling noises may be caused during driving. See Fig 1.
If the mounting plates of the mounts -2, 3- are too greatly preloaded to each other, a malfunction (sluggishness) may be caused when the sliding roof cover is opened or closed. See Fig 1.

SLIDING ROOF COVER FRAME INSTALLING PROCEDURE - TARGA (2 OF 2)

	Functional inspection	To prevent the frame from ratting, carry out a test drive with the vehicle on an uneven surface with the sliding roof cover open or closed. Then open and close the sliding roof cover five times.
		Pay attention to the safety instructions!
		If necessary, adjust the frame for the sliding roof cover, repeat and increase or reduce the bracing of the mounting plates of the mounts.
