Remove vibration balancer.

Support the engine in the vehicle.

Remove engine carrier. To do this, remove the screws from the hydraulic mounts from below and remove them from the longitudinal member.

Front axle removed completely

Remove oil pan.

Oil pressure sensor and oil pressure measuring point
1. 6.1 Release and pull off connector on oil-pressure sender.
2. 6.2 Unscrew fastening screws -4- and remove oil-pressure sender -3- . The adapter -1- is removed as well.
Unscrew five screws between the timing-case cover and oil guide housing. (Four screws can be seen in the illustration, the fifth screw is behind the oil-pressure sender.)

Disconnect coolant supply to the oil/water heat exchanger. To do this, clamp the coolant hoses for the oil/water heat exchanger with hose clamps. For example, use > 3093 - hose clamp or > 3094 - hose clamp. Pull the coolant hoses off the oil/water heat exchanger. Coolant will run out.
Drain engine oil.

For PDCC: Remove fastening nuts -1- on front wire assembly -2- from the oil pan.

Removing line bracket for PDCC lines

On turbo engines, remove the two side oil extraction lines -5- and (bottom illustration) -8- from the oil guide housing.

Release electric plug connection on the oil level sensor -a- and expose the cable. Remove oil level sensor.

Remove cable plug and joint flange -1, 2, 3- on the oil pressure control valve.

Loosen ATF lines at the oil guide housing and lay them aside.
