Removing Lines For ATF Cooling
Installation "location" of "ATF" lines

Removal of line -1- -1-
- Lower the automatic transmission.
> 373519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMISSION - section on "Removing"
- Loosen holder -1-
for ATF lines at the front of the transmission.
Holder for ATF lines at front of transmission.
- Unclip ATF lines -A- .
- Place a suitable container underneath to catch emerging ATF.
Loosen the front fastening screw -1- for the ATF lines -2- on the ATF heat exchanger -3- and pull it out.
Close off the ATF lines and bores in the heat exchanger using suitable stoppers.

- Lift the automatic transmission using a suitable jack.

Use the old screws to secure the transmission.
- Loosen the fastening screw -1-
on the holder -2-
for ATF lines -3-
at the thermostat -4-
.
ATF lines from thermostat to transmission
- Place a suitable container underneath to catch emerging ATF.
Pull ATF lines out of the thermostat.
Close off the ATF lines and bores at the thermostat using suitable stoppers.
- Remove engine carrier.

- Detach holder -1-
for ATF lines at the front of the engine.

- Detach holder -1-
for ATF lines at the rear of the engine.
Holder for ATF lines at rear of engine
- Remove ATF line out of the vehicle and set it aside.
Removal of line - 2 - -2-.
- Loosen fastening screws -1-
for the heat shield -2-
at the automatic transmission -3-
.
Heat shield for automatic transmission
- Place a suitable container underneath to catch emerging ATF.
Loosen the fastening screw -1- for the ATF lines -2- at the bottom of the transmission -3- .
Detaching ATF lines at bottom
- Remove rear ATF lines.
Close off the ATF lines and transmission bores using suitable stoppers.
- Loosen the fastening screw -1-
on the holder -2-
for ATF lines -3-
at the thermostat -4-
.
ATF lines from thermostat to transmission
- Place a suitable container underneath to catch emerging ATF.
Pull ATF lines out of the thermostat.
Close off the ATF lines and bores at the thermostat using suitable stoppers.
- Remove engine carrier.

- Detach holder -1-
for ATF lines at the front of the engine.

- Detach holder -1-
for ATF lines at the rear of the engine.

- Unclip ATF lines -A-
.
Holder for ATF lines at front of transmission.
- Remove ATF line out of the vehicle and set it aside.
Removal of line - 3 - -3-.
- Lower the automatic transmission.

- Loosen fastening screws -1-
for the heat shield -2-
at the automatic transmission -3-

Heat shield for automatic transmission
- Remove heat shield.
- Place a suitable container underneath to catch emerging ATF.
Loosen the fastening screw -1- on the ATF lines -2- at the bottom of the transmission -3- .
Detaching ATF lines at bottom
- Remove front ATF line.
Close off the ATF lines and transmission bores using suitable stoppers.
- Place a suitable container underneath to catch emerging ATF.
Loosen the rear fastening screw -1- for the ATF lines -2- on the ATF heat exchanger -3- and pull it out.
Close off the ATF lines and bores in the heat exchanger using suitable stoppers.
