Adjusting convertible top gear: Notes

NOTE:

The following boundary conditions must be observed for adjusting the convertible top gear!
Convertible top in service position.

Press left and right push bar springs out of the ball head of the drive lever.
Press out push bar and ball head of the convertible top support. (Disengage cover for convertible top compartment).

ADJUSTING CONVERTIBLE TOP GEAR INSTRUCTIONS

	Convertible top in service position	See the service position of convertible top up to model year 2002 and from model year 2003. See REMOVING CONVERTIBLE TOP .
1	Unscrew fastening screw (microencapsulated)	Unscrew the fastening screw -1-2-3-2-4- . See Fig 2 .
2	Disengage flexible shaft	Unclip clip -6-5-7- . See Fig 2 .
3	Push on drive lever	Push drive lever -2-4- . See Fig 2 .
4A	Version: -4A- . See Fig 2 .	Insert the flexible shaft of the convertible top gear -4-2- . See Fig 2 .
4B	Version: -4B- . See Fig 2 .	Insert the flexible shaft of the convertible top gear -4-2-arrow- . See Fig 2 .
5	Fit drive lever, cover	Position the cover -3-2-4-1-1-243- . See Fig 2 .
6	Engage flexible shaft	Insert the flexible shaft -5-4-6- . See Fig 2 .
	Engage convertible top lock into the roof frame	Swivel convertible top, which has been disengaged, forwards until the convertible top lock goes into the roof frame.
		Do not close convertible top lock.
7	Fit push bar	Undo fastening screw -8-9-8- . See Fig 2 .
		Fit push bar springs on the left and right.
		End service position.
		Functional test: -9- . See Fig 2 .
		Open and close convertible top with the rocker switch. -9- . See Fig 2 .
		When opening and closing the convertible top, the gap dimension between the -9- . hook of the convertible top cover and the windstop must be observed. If necessary, correct by screwing the ball socket -9- . See Fig 2 .
