Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Remove and discard 2 air bag unit retaining Torx screws (T30) from rear of steering wheel. Pull air bag unit away from steering wheel and disconnect air bag unit connector. Remove air bag unit. See Fig 1 .
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install NEW self-locking air bag unit retaining Torx screws. Remove retaining bracket to replace retaining screws. Tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
