Air Bag Module & Steering Wheel: Installation

Ensure clockspring is centered. If front wheels are turned after steering wheel is removed, readjustment of clockspring is necessary. See CLOCKSPRING CENTERING under ADJUSTMENTS.
Noting wire positions made during removal procedure, carefully route wires through steering wheel. Position steering wheel to shaft. Ensure wires are not pinched behind steering wheel. Install steering wheel retaining nut and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Before connecting negative battery cable, check system operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
