Exhaust Manifold And Three Way Catalyst (Bank 2)

Removal 

1. Remove front wheel and tire. Refer to Adjustment .
2. Remove fender protector. Refer to Removal and Installation .
3. Disconnect the harness connectors for the air fuel ratio sensor 1 (bank 2) and exhaust temperature sensor (bank 2).
4. Remove the oil level gauge and oil level gauge guide. Refer to Exploded View .
5. Remove exhaust manifold cover bolts and remove exhaust manifold cover through fender opening.
6. Remove front under cover. Refer to Removal and Installation .
7. Support engine assembly (1) with a suitable jack (A).

8. Remove engine mounting bracket and engine mount insulator (RH). Refer to Exploded View .
9. Remove exhaust manifold and three way catalyst (bank 2).
   • Loosen nuts in the reverse of the sequence shown.

     (A)	: Bank 1
     (B)	: Bank 2
     	: Engine front

10. Remove exhaust manifold and three way catalyst gasket.
    CAUTION:

    • Do not reuse gasket.
    • Cover engine openings to avoid entry of foreign materials.

Installation 

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

• Install exhaust manifold and three way catalyst gasket in directional shown in the figure.

  CAUTION: Do not reuse gasket.
  NOTE: When installing exhaust manifold and three way catalyst gasket, coating surface (black) shall be located on the exhaust manifold and three way catalyst side.

  (A)	: Triangle press
  	: Engine upper

Exhaust Manifold and Three Way Catalyst

• Tighten exhaust manifold and three way catalyst nuts in the sequence shown to the specified torque.

  CAUTION: All exhaust manifold and three way catalyst nuts are tightened twice.
