XM Signal Reception Level Indication Mode

NOTE: When you receive any XM complaint, do the XM self-diagnosis to check for any XM error codes first. If there are no XM codes, check the XM signal reception level. To check the XM signal reception, do the following:
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Select XM2 mode.
  3. Make sure the audio system is turned off, then turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  4. Push and hold the preset No. 3 and No. 6 buttons.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  6. Continue holding the buttons for about 5 seconds, then release the buttons.
  7. Press and release preset No. 1 button to read the XM signal reception.
    XM Signal Reception Solution
    SG NOSIG Move the vehicle to an open area, and recheck. If the signal does not improve, substitute a known-good XM antenna (see AM/FM ANTENNA AMPLIFIER REPLACEMENT  ), and recheck.
    SG GOOD The XM signal is OK.
    SG MARG The XM signal is OK.
    SG WEAK Move the vehicle to an open area, and recheck. If the signal does not improve, substitute a known-good XM antenna (see XM ANTENNA REPLACEMENT  ), and recheck.
    SG VWEAK Move the vehicle to an open area, and recheck. If the signal does not improve, substitute a known-good XM antenna (see XM ANTENNA REPLACEMENT  ), and recheck.
  8. To end the XM self-diagnosis, turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
