TCM Self-Diagnostic Procedure: Preparation

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect vacuum pump to throttle opener and apply 7.48 in. Hg. vacuum. See Fig 1.
  2. Disconnect throttle position switch harness connector. Turn ignition on.
  3. Check continuity of closed throttle position switch. See Fig 2. Continuity should exist. If continuity exists, see JUDGEMENT PROCEDURE . If continuity does not exist, check throttle opener and closed throttle position switch, then increase vacuum until closed throttle position switch shows continuity.
