DTC Confirmation Procedure

  1. Follow steps listed in TCM SELF-DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR mode for A/T. Using scan tool, check TP sensor operation. See ACCELERATOR PEDAL CONDITION  table. If TP sensor operation is as specified, go to next step. If TP sensor operation is not as specified, see DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR .
  3. Start engine. Road test vehicle and accelerate to more than 6 MPH for more than 3 seconds with selector lever in "D" position and overdrive on. TP sensor voltage should be 3 volts or less. When all conditions are met, release accelerator pedal fully. If test result is okay, go to next step.
  4. Start engine. Road test vehicle and accelerate to more than 6 MPH and depress accelerator fully for more than 3 seconds with selector lever in "D" position and overdrive on. When all conditions are met, release accelerator pedal fully.
