Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Sentra, 2002 Infiniti G20, 2001 Nissan Sentra, and 2001 Infiniti G20. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Start engine. Check transaxle revolution sensor circuit for voltage between TCM harness connector and ground while driving. Voltage should be zero volts when vehicle is stopped, and gradually increase to one volt or more at about 19 MPH. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . Check harness for open or short between TCM, ECM and sensor. Check ECM ground circuit. Repair as necessary. After repairs, see DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE . If transaxle revolution sensor circuit is okay, go to next step.
  2. Inspect transaxle revolution sensor. See TRANSAXLE REVOLUTION SENSOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as needed. After repairs, see DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE .
