DTC P1566: Engine - ACC/FCM Control State Mismatch < ACC >: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Diagnose the CAN bus line. 
    CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
    1. Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT THE SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III)  ."
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
    3. Diagnose the CAN bus line. (Refer to EXPLANATION ABOUT THE SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III) CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS )
    4. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 2
    2. NO:  Repair CAN bus line (Refer to CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS TABLE ). After repairing CAN bus line, go to  Step 5.
  2. STEP 2. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) diagnostic trouble code 
    • Confirm the diagnostic trouble code is stored from the ACC/FCM-ECU.

    Q: Is diagnostic trouble code stored? 

    1. YES:  Perform troubleshooting of the adaptive cruise control system (ACC) (Refer to DTC P1565: ACC Target Torque < ACC >  ).
    2. NO:  Go to Step 3
  3. STEP 3. Check the MFI system diagnostic trouble code. 

    Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), perform MFI system diagnostic trouble code (Refer to DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION < 2.4L ENGINE >, DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION < 3.0L ENGINE >).

    Q: Is any diagnostic trouble code stored? 

    1. YES:  Repair the MFI system (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART < 2.4L ENGINE >, DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART < 3.0L ENGINE >). Then go to  Step 5.
    2. NO:  Go to Step 4
  4. STEP 4. Read the diagnostic trouble code. 
    1. Use the scan tool (M.U.T.-III), erase the diagnostic trouble code of the cruise control system.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position, and press the ACC ON/OFF switch to turn the cruise control system to ON (the cruise control display screen is turned on).
    3. After turning the cruise control system to ON, when 2 minutes or more has elapsed without operating the cruise control switches, read the diagnostic trouble code of the cruise control system (Refer to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  ).

    Q: Is diagnostic trouble code No. P1566 stored? 

    1. YES:  Replace the ECM (Refer to ECM < 2.4L ENGINE >, ECM < 3.0L ENGINE >). Then go to Step 5.
    2. NO:  It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
  5. STEP 5. Read the diagnostic trouble code. 
    1. Use the scan tool (M.U.T.-III), erase the diagnostic trouble code of the cruise control system.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position, and press the ACC ON/OFF switch to turn the cruise control system to ON (the cruise control display screen is turned on).
    3. After turning the cruise control system to ON, when 2 minutes or more has elapsed without operating the cruise control switches, read the diagnostic trouble code of the cruise control system (Refer to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS  ).

    Q: Is diagnostic trouble code No. P1566 stored? 

    1. YES:  Return to  Step 1.
    2. NO:  This procedure is complete.
