Installing the engine wiring harness for the sensor system 1
Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR HOOD SEAL .
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT WINDSHIELD PANEL COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING SUSPENSION CROSS-BRACE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE UPPER BULKHEAD COVER PANEL .

- Route all cables without abrasions, do not trap and crush.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Detents, guides and mounting elements must not be damaged or missing.
Detents, guides and mounting elements must not be damaged or missing.
- Guide in and install the engine wiring harness (1) for sensor system 1 .
- Connect and lock the connector of the DME control unit.
- Connect and lock the connector of the integrated power supply module (PDM).
- Attach the connector of charging pressure sensor on the intake air plenum and lock.
- Connect and lock the connector for the heat management module.
- Attach and lock the connector for the coolant temperature sensor on the cylinder head.
- Connect and lock the connectors for the knock sensors.
- Attach and lock the connector for the temperature sensor on the cylinder head.
- Connect and lock the connector for the oil pressure switch.
- Attach and lock the connector for the hydraulic valve.
- Connect and lock the connector for the crankshaft sensor.
- Connect the connector of the boost pressure sensor to the throttle valve and lock.
- Attach connector throttle valve and lock.
- Connect and lock the connector for the alternator.
- Connect and lock the connector for the air conditioning compressor.
- Attach the connector for the coolant temperature sensor on the radiator and lock.
- Make sure that all connectors engage audibly.
- Insert and position wiring harness section (2) for sensor system 1 .
- Tighten down screws (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

- Feed in ground cable (4) and position.
- Tighten down screw (3).
TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

- Feed in and install coolant line (1).
- Insert and install the holder (2).
- Make sure that the lock (1) engages audibly.
- Insert and install the wiring harness section (3) in the guide (2).
- Ensure that the locking mechanism (1) engages audibly.
- Guide in and install the wiring harness section (1) for sensor system 1 .
- Make sure the holder (1) engages audibly.
- Insert and install the wiring harness section (2) for the Valvetronic servomotor in the direction of the arrow.
- Ensure that the locking mechanisms (1) engage audibly.
- Feed in wiring harness section (3) for injectors and ignition coils in arrow direction and install.
- Ensure that the locking mechanism (2) engages audibly.
- Insert and install the positive battery cable (1).
- Insert and install the positive battery cable (2) on the holder (3).
- Insert and install the battery positive terminal (1).
- Tighten the battery positive terminal (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

- Connect and lock the connector (1).
- Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
- Connect connector (1) in the direction of the arrow and lock.
- Make sure the connectors (1) engage audibly.
- Connect and lock the connector (1).
- Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
- Insert and install the connector (1) to the E-box (2) in the direction of the arrow.
- Insert and install the cover (2) in the guides (3) in the direction of the arrow.
- Ensure that the cover panel (2) audibly engages in the guides (3).
- Tighten down screw (1).

- Install the tension strut (1).
- Tighten the screws (arrows).

- Guide in and install cover (2).
- Tighten down screw (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
