Replacing the radial shaft seal of the drive shaft (GS6-60DA, GS6X60DA/BA) (Cooper Clubman models with AWD)
Special tools required:
- 23 0 380
- 23 0 490
- 2 358 469
- 2 358 466
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove TRANSMISSION .
- Remove the DISENGAGEMENT MODULE .
Removal:
Release screws (1) and remove the guide tube.
Screw special tool 2 358 469 in radial shaft seal, until the radial shaft seal is pulled out.
Installation:
NOTE:
Coat sealing lips of radial shaft seal with transmission oil.
Push the radial shaft seal onto corresponding special tool 2 358 466 and drive it in to the stop.
Check TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL and check for leak.
Install guide tube and tighten the screws (1).
Tightening torque 23 11 1AZ .
NOTE:
After completion of repair work, check the TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL
.
The vehicle must be parked on a level surface in the workshop to check the transmission oil level.
Use only the approved TRANSMISSION OIL and fill to the appropriate level.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the manual transmission!
Required follow-up work:
- Install the DISENGAGEMENT MODULE .
- Install TRANSMISSION .
