Replacing compressor for air conditioning (Cooper S)

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Injury hazard!
Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!
Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
Read and comply with safety instructions: 

Follow notes for opening and replacing parts in REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .

If Air conditioning is opened for more than 24 h: 

Replace DESICCANT INSERT  for A/C system.

Preliminary work needed: 

Version with brake cooling duct: 

Removal: 

IMPORTANT: Seal openings or lines on compressor with special tool 32 1 270 to prevent leakage of media and dirt contamination.

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

Unscrew the screws (2).

Remove refrigerant lines (3).

NOTE: Secure compressor (2) against falling out.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Feed out compressor (2).

Replacement: 

IMPORTANT: Danger of compressor damage!
Danger of customer complaints due to reduced cooling power of the Air conditioning!
Before the installation of the new compressor, it is absolutely necessary to adjust the coolant oil level in the new compressor!
Be sure to read and comply with safety instructions. Refer to: NOTES ON CHANGING THE AIR-CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR, DETERMINATION OF THE COOLANT OIL LEVEL (COOLANT OIL LEVEL OF NEW AIR-CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR NOT KNOWN)  or NOTES ON REPLACING AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR, DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT OIL (AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT OIL FOR NEW AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR NOT KNOWN) 

Installation: 

Position compressor (2) correctly.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 64 52 3AZ .

Position refrigerant lines (3) correctly.

Tighten down screws (2).

Tightening torque 64 52 4AZ .

Attach and lock connector (1).

NOTE: Replace sealing rings.

Use special tool 00 9 030 to install sealing rings without damaging them.
